I loved visiting the Episcopal Church’s Bishop’s Ranch up in Healdsburg, California. It is beautiful! Bishop Marc Andrus was wonderful in arranging for a visit to walk the property. In addition to being a retreat, it is also a working ranch (cows!!!). Hiking trails pass through numerous fields where cattle may or may not be grazing. Gates are erected to allow passage from one field to another–but not just any gates: bright red Episcopal gates! What a playful nod to the church’s tradition of red doors!!!
