I have the great fortune of having wonderful friends, Anne & Jim Morrison, who own a cabin just outside of Lone Pine and set in the Alabama Hills. I’m guessing nearly every one of you has seen a movie that has been filmed in this area. I especially remember the sci-fi film “Tremors”….

I visited in the Morrison place last October and the light was amazing! From their place it’s a short (steep) drive up to two trail heads that begin on the eastern side of the Sierra: Whitney Portal and Horseshoe Meadows.
