Most of my East Coast paintings are from the ‘early’ years of my artist endeavors! The colors on the East coast are amazing for every season. I learned that outdoor painting not only requires strength of limb to transport canvases, paint, and brushes, but it required a certain degree of tolerance for the cold! As October rolled by, our teacher Walt Bartman seemed to thrive with the dropping of the temperatures….yikes! I have a gorgeous winter scene he painted (evening, deep snow): it was truly created in 28 degree weather! No studio artist he!
