Dear Friends of the Medical Clown Project
Thank you for making a difference in the lives of the thousands of adults and children in health care settings who benefited from medical clowning in 2014. Together, we are part of the healing process for patients and day-program participants, their families and the medical team and staff.
In 2014, our medical clowns provided over 7000 patient, 850 family member and 1,400 medical team therapeutic medical clowning sessions at On Lok Lifeways Centers, California Pacific Medical Center, and Laguna Honda Hospital and Rehabilitation Center. Our services expanded this past year to include the development and implementation of professional traingin on the therapeutic medical clowning as an integral part of health care. We provided two of these professional trainings to Kaiser Permanente Pediatricians.
In 2015 we will:
- continue to deepen and broaden medical clowning with our existing health care partners – Laguna Honda Hospital and Rehabilitation Center, California Pacific Medical Center and On Lok Lifeways Centers
- explore possibilities for medical clowning services with Kaiser Permanente Pediatricians
- expand the provision of services to other heath care institutions
- add four more medical clowns to our team
- further develop our professional health care training program
- produce our first Grand Circus Rounds fundraiser that will thrill the audience and spotlight the intersection Arts and Healthcare
- host a virtual medical clowning conference with our international colleagues
